I have learned the hard way, that a one week break is necessary after 2-3 months of lifting. My question is, do I stop cardio as well? When I take my 1 week off of lifting, should I rest and not do cardio?

In my own opinioin taking a break means taking a break from all. I have had a few week sometimes longer breaks recently. Mostly because of a busy schedule. I am always nervous when going back to lifing. With my experience I do far better after a serious break from lifting and cardio.

Most people when they take a break they don't lift or do cardio. They regroup and hit it that much harder when they start liftiing again. Or be like me and don't take breaks LOL:D

1 week off is good. Maybe don't worry about 7 days maybe just 4 or 5. But time off or even slowing down to let your body heal works. You need lots of sleep, protean and amino's. But rest is good. Just don't rest for a few months in a row. That is not rest.

If you are trying to cut up, to much Protein can make turn into excess bodyfat.
